This technique has since been adopted by other leading spine institutions, and allows patients to leave the hospital the same day or the next day with less pain, rather than having to stay for 3-4 days with the standard large incision surgery. Dr. Bendiks is currently involved in the design and development of spinal implants, and Dr. Bendiks’ patients certainly benefit from this knowledge of implant science and design.
Dr. Bendiks is one of the leading surgeons in the Southeast United States for the treatment of lumbar spinal stenosis. His method of minimally invasive interspinous decompression (Stenoplasty) does not remove any bone, ligament, muscle, or tendon. Patients are sent home the same day and usually notice significant relief in a matter of days without the need for any post-operative physical therapy.
CT scans, xrays, MRI’s, myelograms, discograms, EMG’s!!!! What do they all mean? Dr. Bendiks understands that this alphabet soup of tests is confusing. He will take the time to review the test results with you, so that you have a better understanding of what is going on with your body. Once the problem is identified, then a personalized treatment plan tailored to your specific needs can begin.
